Northern Wisconsin’s history is filled with tales of lumberjacks and lumber barons. Fortunes were made as the logging began, and fortunes lost as the lumbering indutry faded. Cities were built as the lumber mills were built, thankfully many of the cities remain today even though the mills were shuttered long ago.

Our lumbering heritage can still be seen across Northern Wisconsin:

Wheels On The Bus…

A great idea from a group in Kansas City! The group created a game of chance that gave everyone a chance to win with each stop of the bus. The game was created on a back tire. The tire was divided into equal parts, one “slot” for each person on the coach- and a small black tab (or arrow) was placed on the bus just above the tire. With each stop folks hurried off the coach to see where the arrow was pointing. The lucky number theh received a small gift with each stop.

Well that’s one way to get folks off of a coach in a hurry!

Spring Has Arrived — Officially

According to the calendar it is now Spring. The signs are becoming even more abundant all around Northern Wisconsin. Seasonal attractions are sweeping out the winter and getting ready to once again greet visitors:

Paul Bunyan Logging Camp (Eau Claire) is opening May 1st

Big Top Chautauqua(Washburn) has the official First Night on June 19- check their countdown meter!

Madeline Island Ferry Line(Bayfield/La Pointe) The Ice Road is closed and the ferries are getting ready to go!

Northernlights Playhouse – Shows start in early June- get your seats now.
