Welcome Aboard!!
The Madeline Island Ferry Line operates on a 2.6 mile route between Bayfield and Madeline Island on Lake Superior. Travelers will enjoy spectacular views of the Lake itself and several of the 22 Apostle Islands as they voyage to Madeline, the largest of the Apostles.
Tours: The ferry ride is just the beginning of your groups exhilarating time on the Island. Once you’ve landed, your group will be “hand held” on a narrated tour of the Island’s many unique points of interest, and experience a taste of Island living. You’ll visit the Madeline Island Museum to discover the Island’s rich history of native Anishinabe and early European settlement. No matter late Spring, Summer or Fall, your group will see a variety of natural beauty while touring the Island. A grand display of wildflowers indigenous to our area are in full bloom in May and June. July and August bring on the beginning of picking many fruits in season and are hosts to a variety of events from music concerts to fish boils. September and October are popular for their panoramic surroundings on unlimited colors.
Tour packages can include a meal, whether lunch or dinner. You can choose to dine at one of our wonderful restaurants, or have a picnic on the shores of Lake Superior. Another popular option is to let your clients eat on their own, picking from the variety of restaurants here on the Island.
The Ferry Line maintains a close working relationship with both Island and Bayfield based businesses. We can easily arrange a tour of the Bayfield area. All our tours can be customized to fit the specific needs of your group, whether for a half day or full day. We look forward to working with you! For further assistance please contact:
